Airport WX helps you check airport observations and forecasts. The bottom of the app has three tabs: Favorites, Map, and More.

Add airports to Favorites

1. On Favorites, tap Add Airport in the upper-right corner.
2. Enter a four-letter ICAO code, such as ZBAA.
3. Tap a search result to add it to Favorites.

Favorites shows each airport's name, flight category, and available temperature, wind, and visibility information. Tap an airport for details. Swipe left on a favorite to remove it or pin it to the top; you can also reorder the list. Pull down to refresh the weather.

Read METAR and TAF

An airport's detail screen offers four views:

• RAW: Read the METAR and TAF reports as issued.
• Decoded: Read observations and forecasts by item, including wind, visibility, clouds, temperature, and pressure.
• TAF Visualization: Follow forecast periods and changes on a timeline. Select a period for details, or open the landscape full-screen view for more room.
• History: Explore METAR trends from the last 24 hours, including temperature and dew point, wind speed, pressure, and visibility. Tap a chart to see the reading at a particular time.

Pull down in a weather view to request the latest reports. Historical reports load only when you open History. If a report is missing, a source is delayed, or the network is unavailable, the app shows a message.

Find nearby airports

Open Map and allow location access while using the app. The map will show your position and nearby airports. Tap an airport marker, then its information, to see the weather. Use the location button in the upper-right corner to locate yourself again.

If you decline location access, you can still use Favorites, search for airports, and view weather for saved airports. You can change Airport WX's location permission later in iPhone Settings.

Adjust your preferences

In More, you can:

• Follow the system language or choose Simplified Chinese or English.
• Change units for visibility, cloud height, pressure, temperature, and wind speed.
• Show local time below UTC.
• Update the airport database manually. The bundled database works offline; an update is downloaded only when you tap Update airport database.
• Prefer AMSC weather reports for airports in China. If a report is unavailable, the app tries NOAA as a fallback.

About the data

Weather reports can be delayed, missing, or different from actual conditions. Airport WX makes reports easy to browse, but check official aviation weather, NOTAMs, and applicable operational information before a flight.
